WILLIAM VOORHEES JUDSON - (1865-1923) - Army Engineer, born Indianapolis, Indiana. Graduated at West Point 1888. Member of U.S. Board of Engineers for river and harbors; harbor inprovements at Galveston, etc. Instructor of military engineering at U.S. Engineering School; Assistant to Corps of Engineers, military attaché with Russian Army during Russo-Japanese War; in charge of harbor inprovements and lighthouse construction on Lake Michigan; engineer commander of Washington D.C.; on duty with Panama Canal committee; military attaché and chief of American military mission to Russia (1917-18). Command Port of Embarkation of New York (1918). Division Engineer of Northwestern Division. Awarded DSM.
