JOSEPH ERNEST KUHN - (1864-1935) - Graduated at West
Point 1885. Construction duty and tours at West Point
as instructor. Engineer duty in Philippines, Japan and
China. Military observer of Japan's Army (1904-05);
Commander of Engineer School and depot of District
Columbia (1913-14); Military observer of German Army
(1917); Commander of Vancouver barracks from 1923 to
1925; commander 79th Division during World War I;
appointed Major General (1925).
