EBEN EVELETH WINSLOW - (1866-1928) - Army Engineer, born
in Washington D.C. Graduated at West Point in 1889. Duty
with river, harbor, and fort works in Mobile, Alabama,
and vicinity (1892-96). Commanded a company in Battle of
San Juan, Cuba (1898), and in charge of 1st and 2nd
Districts of Mississippi River improvements, Memphis,
Tennessee (1898-1902). Assigned duty with Corps of
Engineers (1907). Member of Board of Engineers for river
and harbor improvements.
